Welcome to Mariam’s Therapy & Coaching Services
I’m Mariam, a Person-Centred Therapist with over 10 years’ experience providing therapy and counselling to adults from a wide range of backgrounds, offering online sessions across the UK .
My therapeutic approach is warm, encouraging, and empowering. I offer a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel heard, supported, and understood.
I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring my practice is professional, respectful, and client-centred.
I have worked across a range of professional settings, including the NHS, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), online therapy platforms, addiction support services, and higher education institutions.
Through this work, I have supported individuals experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, work-related stress, family conflict, loneliness, trauma, and loss.
I also specialise in culturally sensitive therapy for Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, and Minority women.
My work often supports those who have experienced abuse and violence, including physical and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, rape, forced marriage, financial and coercive control, female genital mutilation (FGM), and other harmful practices, including so-called honour-based violence.
My work is rooted in a person-centred approach, meaning your experiences, values, and pace guide our work together. Person-centred therapy is based on the belief that people have an innate capacity for growth and healing when they are met with empathy, acceptance, and genuine understanding.
I offer a safe and respectful space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly, and develop greater self-awareness and clarity.
As a Christian, I am able to integrate Biblical principles and Christian values into therapy or coaching if this is something you would like. This is always optional and guided by your preferences.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I am a certified Life Coach and offer coaching support in areas such as heartbreak and relationship recovery, low self-esteem, building confidence, setting meaningful goals, and personal development. Therapy can support emotional healing, self-understanding, and resilience.
Coaching offers a more forward-focused space to help you build confidence, set meaningful goals, and move towards positive change. Where appropriate, I integrate therapeutic insight with coaching tools to support both healing and personal development.

All services are delivered with the same level of care, professionalism, and confidentiality.
My aim is to work collaboratively with you, helping you reconnect with your inner strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Sessions are offered remotely and can take place online via video or by telephone, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
Each session lasts one hour and costs £65.
Both therapy and coaching sessions are usually scheduled weekly or fortnightly, though this can be discussed and adjusted depending on your needs and goals.
If you’re unsure whether therapy or coaching is the right fit for you, this can be explored together during an initial conversation.
Your first session is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy or coaching and to ask any questions you may have.
I will explain how I work and support you in exploring your needs at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Sessions are collaborative and person-centred, offering a supportive space where you can speak openly and be met with empathy, respect and understanding.
I am based in South London and currently offer therapy and coaching online, supporting clients across the UK through secure video platforms and telephone sessions.
This allows you to access support in a way that feels comfortable, private and convenient for you.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session will be charged at the full session fee.
If rescheduling within the same working week is possible, no additional charge will apply.
Exceptions may be considered for emergencies, at the therapist’s discretion.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy or coaching works, or if you would like to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to seek support, whether therapy or coaching may be helpful for you, and whether I am the right practitioner to support you.
I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have before arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
No, you don’t need to have that clarity straight away. Many people come knowing they want support but are unsure which approach is best for them. We can explore this together and decide what feels most appropriate based on your needs and circumstances.
Therapy is often more focused on emotional healing, self-understanding, and working through past or ongoing difficulties.
Coaching is more forward-focused and supports clarity, confidence, relationships, and goal-setting.
If you’re unsure, this can be discussed during an initial session.
Sessions are currently offered online via video or by telephone.
Most clients attend sessions weekly or fortnightly, though this can vary depending on individual needs and preferences.
Yes. Coaching can be particularly supportive during times of relationship transition, such as heartbreak or separation. It focuses on helping clients gain clarity, rebuild confidence, and move forward with intention.
